Sodium-ion battery solution company Standard Potential conducted in-person customer discovery interviews at The Battery Show through a 2023 I-Corps course. This integration into the Binghamton-led battery tech ecosystem led to Standard Potential’s acceptance into the inaugural cohort of ChargeUp, the first accelerator program in the U.S. dedicated to advancing battery and energy storage innovations to investment readiness. After graduating from ChargeUp, Standard Potential landed a pilot demonstration project in partnership with Con Edison. In 2025, the collaboration built New York City’s largest home battery network, providing an air conditioning solution for residents in a hot summer and making Con Edison’s grid more reliable and affordable for New Yorkers.
