Binghamton University’s team of Assistant Professor Jayson Boubin and Ph.D. student Melika Dastranj developed REMIX, a drone-mounted hyperspectral camera system capable of processing massive amounts of data in real time to detect early signs of crop disease. Through a 2025 I-Corps course, the team attended the Small Satellites conference, where they refined their customer and business model. Since I-Corps, Dr. Boubin has launched REMIX and captured the $50,000 grand prize at the SUNY Summer Startup School Demo Day. Today, REMIX continues customer discovery efforts, leveraging I-Corps methods to transition their tech from research to real-world impact.
